Kristina Tester

African Studies

Class of 2014

Kristina Tester is a senior in Dunster House, from Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is pursuing a degree in African studies with a secondary in global health, and is applying to medical school this coming fall. On campus, Kristina is the co-director of the Initiative to End Childhood Malnutrition, which works with the Division of Global Health and Human Rights at Massachusetts General Hospital to treat malnutrition on an inpatient and outpatient basis in Kenya and Uganda. Kristina is also the founder and director of So Others May Learn, a non-profit organization that provides four-year secondary school scholarships to motivated students in Zimbabwe and Uganda who lack the resources to attend school past the eighth grade. She is currently writing her senior thesis on the efficacy of utilizing Village Health Teams to diagnose and treat malnutrition in Southwestern Uganda.
