African Studies, with a primary field in Government
Sarah Lockwood is a doctoral student in African Studies with a primary field in Government. She received her B.A. in Political Science from Columbia University in the City of New York, and her MSc in African Studies from the University of Oxford. Her research interests include identity formation and identity change in sub-Saharan Africa, with a particular focus on post-Apartheid South Africa. In addition to her academic work, Sarah also has extensive experience as a journalist, and has written articles for newspapers and magazines in South Africa, China, Romania, Israel, the UK and the US.
