Lowell Andrew Brower
African Studies, with a primary field in English
Lowell Brower is a doctoral student in the Department of African and African American Studies. He received a B.A. in African Languages and Literature from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Washington. Lowell's research interests include African oral traditions, folklore and mythology, Swahili language and culture, Western representations of Africa and Africans, the ethics of folkloric collection, documentary film, refugee studies, and human rights.
