African Language Requirement

African Track concentrators and joint concentrators are required to complete two terms of an African language. Language courses in the Department are offered through the African Language Program.

Meeting the African Language Requirement
African Language Citation

Students who have taken four half courses in an African language above the introductory level may be eligible to receive a Foreign Language Citation.

Getting a Citation in an African Language
African Language Theater Night

The African Language Theater Night is a event of public performances by students studying African languages. The African Language Program hosts Theater Night every semester as a requirement for students enrolled in the Program. Members of the Harvard and African heritage communities around Boston are invited to watch stage performances by students in diverse African languages offered in the Department.
